2009

  • Signed exchange agreements with All Nations University and the University of Baguio in the Philippines.

  • Selected as an educational institution for the 2009 UP Program, the University-level Program for advanced placement courses, among 15 universities nationwide.

  • In the 2009 general university teacher education program evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korean Educational Development Institute, Kwangju Women’s University was selected as “Excellent” in the overall comprehensive evaluation and “Outstanding” in the educational conditions category.

  • Signed a mutual cooperation and exchange agreement with Bitgoeul Senior Health Town.

  • Selected for the Public Bicycle Use Promotion Project hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, among seven universities nationwide.

  • At the 90th National Sports Festival, the Archery Team achieved first place in the women’s university division at 50m and 30m through Ki Bo-bae, and third place at 70m through Shin Eun-jung.

  • Signed an agreement with the Federation of Korean Associations, U.S.A.

  • Dr. Oh Jang-won was inaugurated as the 6th President.

  • Established the Department of Dental Hygiene with an admission quota of 30 students.

  • Won the overall team championship at the 12th Korea University Archery Open Championship.

  • Conducted secondary teacher qualification training for Grade 1 regular teachers in beauty education.

  • Signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with KT.

  • Signed an exchange cooperation agreement with Jeonju Eunhwa School.

  • Held the Green Campus proclamation ceremony, including the athletic field completion ceremony and the declaration of the university’s commitment to low-carbon green growth.

  • Signed an exchange agreement with Murray State University in the United States.

  • Signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with the Gwangju Branch of Korea Airports Corporation.

  • Signed an exchange agreement with Donggang Vocational and Technical School in China.

  • Signed an exchange agreement with Yonghui International School in Zhejiang Province, China.

  • Signed a specialized industry-academic linked education agreement with Songwon Girls’ Commercial High School.

  • Held the 2009 Freshman Entrance Ceremony.

  • Signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with Suncheon Peace Hospital.

  • Signed an exchange agreement with Hong Bang University in Vietnam.

  • Signed an exchange agreement with Lac Hong University in Vietnam.

  • Held the 2008 Commencement Ceremony.

  • Signed industry-academic cooperation agreements with Pohang Medical Center and Pohang Rehabilitation Hospital.

  • Held a mentor-mentee connection ceremony with Nam-gu Office, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
