Department of Aviation Services Wins 2nd and 3rd Place in Miss Intercontinental Jeolla & Gwangju Reg
Gwangju Women's University ( President Lee Seon-jae ) announced that first- year student Lim Su-jin and second- year student Jo Eun-bi achieved the results of taking second and third place overall, respectively, at the '2026 Miss Intercontinental Korea Jeolla - Gwangju Selection Contest ' held at Merry Poem Wedding Hall on the 9th . ' Miss Intercontinental Korea ' is a global cultural content competition hosted by First Foundation and organized by the Asia Cultural Content Development Institute . It is a competition that comprehensively evaluates not only the participants' external beauty but also their character , global sensibility , communication skills , and stage presence . This award is considered a prime example of how the practical, hands-on education of Gwangju Women's University's Department of Aviation Service has led to students' external competitiveness . The two students prepared for the competition by systematically mastering global manners , image making , speech , walking , interviewing , and communication skills through their major education , and achieved outstanding results by demonstrating exceptional capabilities on stage . Student Lim Su-jin said, “ I was very nervous since it was my first time participating in a competition, but I am grateful to have had such a valuable experience, ” adding, “ I will continue to work hard to show a more improved version of myself . ” Student Jo Eun-bi shared her thoughts, saying, “ Preparing for this competition helped me develop my expressiveness and confidence , and what I learned in my major classes was of great help on the actual stage, ” and added , “ I thank the professors in my department for providing this great opportunity, and I will diligently prepare for the Korea competition as well . ” Baek Seon-suk, Head of the Department of Aviation Service, said , “ This award is a valuable achievement born of the students’ consistent efforts and practical education, ” adding, “ We will continue to do our best to cultivate professional talents equipped with global service capabilities and dignity through various external activities and field-oriented education . ” Meanwhile, the Department of Aviation Service at Gwangju Women's University has produced 498 cabin crew members for domestic and international airlines , and is strengthening students' employment competitiveness and global capabilities by operating various industry-academia cooperation programs, such as internships with domestic and international airlines and luxury hotels , airport field training , and global education programs .
