Guidelines on Permitted Part-Time Work

Category Permission for Activities Outside the Status of Stay (D-2)
Program 1st–2nd Year
Permission Conditions-
Not Met Korean language proficiency Level 3
- Starting period: No restriction
- Permitted hours: Weekdays, 10 hours / Weekends and vacations, 10 hours

Met Korean language proficiency Level 3
- Starting period: No restriction
- Permitted hours: Weekdays, 20 hours / Weekends and vacations, no restriction
RemarksRestriction: Applicable to those whose attendance rate is 70% or lower, average grade is C, or GPA is 2.0 or lower based on the most recently completed semester. Undergraduate students only.
Students who have been exceptionally permitted to stay because they failed to meet graduation requirements due to insufficient credits or other reasons after the regular study period are excluded from permission.
- However, only those who have completed master’s or doctoral programs may be permitted as thesis-preparation students after completing the regular program. In such cases, students whose graduation delay is clearly due to insincere academic performance, such as insufficient credits or low attendance, are excluded.
- Even in the cases permitted above, work is limited to 30 hours per week, and the provision allowing unlimited work on days off, public holidays, and during vacations does not apply.

- Permitted hours: Weekdays, 30 hours / Weekends and vacations, no restriction

Not Met Korean language proficiency Level 2
- Starting period: After 6 months
- Permitted hours: Weekdays and vacations, 10 hours

- Starting period: After 6 months
- Permitted period: Weekdays and vacations, 20 hours
RemarksRestriction: Applicable to those whose average attendance rate for all completed semesters is 90% or lower.
