  • The curriculum for cultivating future-oriented technical artist integrated talents consists of the Artificial Intelligence, AI, Track and the Immersive Media Track.
  • The Department of AI Media Contents cultivates AI convergence specialists, AI for video, voice, text, and big data, equipped with practical competencies in new media contents using AI technology, as well as immersive media, AR/VR/MR/XR, planning specialists.

The 4C-type educational goals of the Department of AI Convergence have been established as step-by-step educational goals to achieve the founding philosophy of Kwangju Women’s University, as well as the university’s talent profile and core competencies.

Course Descriptions

01 ICT English

This course teaches basic ICT English content to improve major competencies by enhancing English analysis and reading comprehension skills related to the latest ICT technologies that freshmen in the Department of AI Convergence need to know.

02 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

This course provides broad understanding and skills in the field of artificial intelligence. AI is generally a field of computer science that focuses on creating systems or machines capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence, and this course serves as a foundation for learning in the field of artificial intelligence.

03 Media Contents

This is a basic AI media content course that allows students to learn various forms of information, including media content, video media, social media, and virtual spaces, before undertaking the immersive content curriculum.

04 Python Programming

This course is operated to help students learn programming necessary for AI convergence and big data analysis so that it can be applied to practical work. Major competencies related to AI convergence and big data analysis are organized based on knowledge and skills in the AI field and the value of data analysis.

05 Artificial Intelligence Mathematics

Artificial intelligence, AI, research includes various mathematical concepts and techniques. AI mathematics serves as the foundation for understanding and developing algorithms, models, and systems in the AI field, and is one of the most fundamental disciplines for learning artificial intelligence.

06 Web Programming

As a basic course in web programming for the Department of AI Media Contents, this course is essential for cultivating computational knowledge and logical thinking. It is a basic web course in which students learn website and web application development, as well as various topics and technologies.

07 Computer Graphics

This is a basic computer graphics course for planning and practicing immersive media. It is a prerequisite for 3D graphics and immersive content computing. As a course for providing next-generation media services based on computational creativity, it places a high level of emphasis on major competencies in next-generation media planning.

08 Introduction to Programming

As a basic programming course for the Department of AI Media Contents, this course is essential for cultivating computational knowledge and logical thinking. The basic major competencies are set at 40% logical thinking, 30% computational creativity, and 30% programming skills.

09 AI Programming

This course is operated to help students learn programming necessary for AI convergence and big data analysis so that it can be applied to practical work. Major competencies related to AI convergence and big data analysis are organized based on knowledge and skills in the AI field and the value of data analysis.

10 Database

This course is a basic course for big data analysis and deals with data storage, management, and application. It helps students enhance data-analytic thinking based on computational knowledge related to data types.

11 Object-Oriented Programming I

This course is a basic course for AI convergence programming after Introduction to Programming. It cultivates programming skills based on computational creativity and logical thinking.

12 Big Data Analysis Planning

This course teaches theoretical content on major steps and considerations for planning big data analysis, including goal definition, data sources, data collection and integration, technology, infrastructure planning, information protection, and data governance.

13 JAVA Web Programming

This course is an essential programming course in the AI convergence field or immersive media field after Introduction to Programming and Object-Oriented Programming, and requires major competencies in programming skills.

14 Video Content Production

This course teaches the skills and knowledge necessary to create high-quality video content. Students learn to handle various aspects of video production, including planning, filming, editing, and distribution of video content.

15 Object-Oriented Programming II

As an advanced programming course and a basic course for AI convergence programming, this course cultivates programming skills based on computational creativity and logical thinking.

16 Data Mining

This course teaches key algorithms and analysis techniques for extracting meaningful patterns and knowledge hidden in large-scale data.

17 Prompt Engineering

This course helps students understand the operating principles of generative AI and learn prompt design and tuning techniques to derive optimal results suited to specific purposes.

18 AI Application API Practice

This course teaches how to use APIs of major AI platforms and develop intelligent applications that actually operate by integrating them.

19 Generative AI Content Production

This course helps students plan and produce creative multimedia content using various generative AI tools for text, images, videos, and other media.

20 Machine Learning and Deep Learning

This course teaches core algorithms of machine learning and deep learning, and cultivates the ability to design and implement data-based intelligent models.

21 AI Cloud Computing

This course cultivates core infrastructure technologies and platform utilization abilities for developing, deploying, and operating artificial intelligence models in cloud environments.

22 Immersive Content Programming

This course helps students acquire practical skills to directly implement highly immersive content such as VR and AR using game engines such as Unity.

23 Capstone Design I

Capstone Design refers to a course in which students carry out a culminating or final project that integrates and applies the knowledge and skills acquired through their learning process. This course allows students to gain practical experience necessary for integrating various aspects of education.

24 Immersive Content Planning Practice

This course teaches the overall practical planning process for designing highly immersive content using immersive media technologies such as VR and AR.

25 AI MAUM Convergence Literacy

This course integrates artificial intelligence technology with the educational value of MAUM, cultivating technology ethics and human-centered problem-solving competencies required in the digital era.

26 Video Content Planning Practice

This course teaches key practical planning processes for successful video production, from idea generation to scenario and storyboard writing.

27 Capstone Design II

Capstone Design refers to a course in which students carry out a culminating or final project that integrates and applies the knowledge and skills acquired through their learning process. This course allows students to gain practical experience necessary for integrating various aspects of education.

28 Short-Term Field Practice, AI

This course provides students with short-term field practice experience at artificial intelligence-related companies, IT-related companies, and immersive content companies.
