As the social environment changes rapidly and individual lifestyles become more diverse and complex, various criminal factors that threaten our safe lives are emerging. Therefore, students learn about situations that may occur at crime scenes due to such criminal factors, become familiar with response techniques according to the situation, and apply them in practice.

This course aims to help students understand terrorism that threatens aviation safety and methods for responding to it. In modern society, where rapid internationalization has occurred through the remarkable development of the aviation industry, aviation terrorism targeting aircraft, airports, and passengers poses enormous risks and causes severe human and material damage, requiring a more systematic understanding. Students first learn basic theories of terrorism, including its history, concepts, types, response methods, and new forms, and then study detailed theories related to aviation terrorism.

Students understand essential contents of protection operations, including threat analysis and response measures through intelligence and information collection, methods for preparing protection plans, site inspections and safety measures, procedures for responding to unexpected situations, evaluation of results after protection operations, and report writing. Through repetition of the theories and techniques acquired in the department’s major courses, this course seeks to maximize students’ ability to perform techniques in actual field settings so that they can apply them in practice.
