Scholarships for the Korean Language Training Program

  1. If a student earns a score of 70 or higher in the first semester after admission, an academic scholarship of KRW 200,000 per person will be provided.
  2. A TOPIK Excellence Scholarship will be awarded upon obtaining a level in the Test of Proficiency in Korean, TOPIK.

Personal Accident Insurance Support
Undergraduate Students and Korean Language Training Program Students

  1. Insurance that international students must purchase to prepare for accidents, diseases, death, and other risks during their study abroad period.
  2. Cost: KRW 99,000
  3. Support is provided only for the first semester of admission for new and transfer students, undergraduate students.
  4. For Korean language trainees, students pay the insurance fee for the first year, and insurance support is provided from the second year.

Guide to On-Campus Scholarships

After checking the scholarship notice on the university website each semester, students must submit the scholarship application documents to the Office of Student Affairs, Scholarship and Welfare Team.

Principles for Scholarship Selection and Payment
  • All scholarships shall be paid within the scope of tuition.
  • However, exceptions shall apply to scholarships for work, service, Nabi Mileage, mentor-mentee programs, SOS Angel, MAUM Sharing, teaching assistantship, T/A, and scholarships donated by external organizations with designated scholarship recipients or scholarship purposes.
  • In principle, duplicate receipt of scholarships is not allowed. If scholarships overlap, the scholarship more favorable to the student shall be paid.
  • However, exceptions shall apply to scholarships for meritorious service, Magnolia, work, service, exemplary students, guidance, encouragement of study, department-special scholarships for new and transfer students, Songgang Love for freshmen, Do Dream for freshmen, Songgang Future, excluding international transfer students admitted after the 2025 academic year among new and transfer students, academic excellence for freshmen, Happiness, Nabi Mileage, mentor-mentee programs, SOS Angel, MAUM Sharing, Academic Improvement, JUMP, teaching assistantship, T/A, RE Academy for students on academic probation, Songgang Family, Songgang Woman Power, Love Sharing, and external scholarships.
  • Scholarship payment may be suspended if a person selected as a scholarship recipient takes a leave of absence, is expelled, receives disciplinary action for violating university regulations, or fails to register within the designated period.
  • For new and transfer students, academic grades are not reflected in scholarship selection.
  • However, exceptions shall apply to Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients, Talent Development Scholarship recipients, International Student Admission Scholarship recipients, and Songgang Love Scholarship recipients.
  • For new and transfer students, academic grades are not reflected in scholarship selection.
  • Other types of scholarships, the number of scholarship recipients, and scholarship amounts may be selected and paid through deliberation by the Scholarship Committee, depending on the budget.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

Recipients shall be selected within 5% of the admission quota for each recruitment unit if they meet any of the following criteria.

  1. Among those whose overall high school average grade is within Grade 2, applicants who have an official English test score of TOEIC 750 or higher, G-TELP Level 2 75% or higher, or New HSK Level 5 or higher.
  2. Applicants who have received Grade 2 or higher in at least two of the Korean language, mathematics, and foreign language areas of the College Scholastic Ability Test, and whose average grade of the two best subjects in the inquiry area is Grade 2 or higher.

Representatives by Academic Year

  1. KRW 200,000 for academic years with 15 or more enrolled students, and KRW 100,000 for departments with fewer than 15 enrolled students.
    However, departments for which recruitment has been suspended in the relevant academic year and departments with fewer than five students by academic year are excluded.
  2. In principle, academic-year representatives shall be paid only to the number of representatives calculated as one representative per 40 enrolled students.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

Students whose two or more immediate family members are enrolled in this university or graduate school, and who have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the previous semester, 1st or 3rd semester.
However, all eligible persons must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • If three or more family members are enrolled, full tuition within the tuition limit shall be paid only to one person whose scholarship benefit amount is the lowest.

Students of good conduct who are diligent and sincere, and who have been assigned work duties in accordance with the university’s work activity plan.

Students who are recognized as needing support for student guidance. Scholarship Selection Criteria
Among new or transfer students admitted in the relevant year, students who are 30 years of age or older, meaning those born on or before March 1 of the year used as the basis for age 30, and who have achieved a GPA of 2.0 or higher in the previous semester, 1st or 3rd semester.
However, the Department of Nursing and the Department of Physical Therapy are excluded.

KRW 500,000 for each required semester.
However, KRW 1,000,000 is provided only for the semester of admission.

  • National government, local governments, and public organizations, including military officers and professional non-commissioned officers
  • Schools prescribed in Article 2 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the Higher Education Act
  • Newspaper companies and broadcasting stations registered with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
  • Medical institutions prescribed in Article 3, Subparagraph 4 of the Framework Act on Health and Medical Services
  • Private institutes registered with the supervisory authority, including private teaching institutes
  • Businesses registered with the National Tax Service, as workplaces subject to Article 11, Paragraph 1 of the Labor Standards Act and employing five or more regular employees
  • Submission of Certificate of Employment at an Industrial Organization: A certificate confirming employment at an industrial organization as of March 1 of each year must be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs. If the student leaves the industrial organization, scholarship payment will be suspended.
Industrial Employee Scholarship Recipients
Scholarship Selection Criteria
Among new or transfer students admitted in the relevant year, students who are employed at an industrial organization and who have achieved a GPA of 2.0 or higher in the previous semester, 1st or 3rd semester.
However, the following are excluded: Department or Division of Airline Service, Department of Early Childhood Education, Department of Elementary Special Education, Department of Secondary Special Education, Department of Nursing, Department of Occupational Therapy, Department of Physical Therapy, Department or Division of Beauty Science, Department of Special Education, Elementary Special Education Major, Department of Special Education, Secondary Special Education Major, Department of Dental Hygiene, and those who have been employed at an industrial organization for less than one year after graduating from high school.
