Introduction to the Department

The Department of Hotel and Tourism Management aims to cultivate competent talents in the hotel and tourism fields by providing practical education using various educational contents in order to train differentiated professionals. Students in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management can advance into leisure industry fields such as domestic and overseas hotels, resorts, and travel agencies, and work as “service professionals.”

01 Understanding the Hotel and Tourism Industry

This course helps students acquire knowledge of trends in the hotel and tourism industries and key job duties.

02 Hotel Management Theory

This course helps students acquire theories and knowledge related to hotel service management, including the characteristics of the hotel industry, hotel rooms, front office, housekeeping, menu management, and banquet management.

03 Hotel and Tourism Service Theory

This course helps students acquire theoretical knowledge related to hotel and tourism services and learn practical contents for providing customer satisfaction services.

04 Basic Hotel and Tourism English

This course helps students acquire basic English vocabulary and expressions used in the hotel and tourism fields.

05 Cultural Tourism Content

This course helps students explore cultural tourism content resources and acquire the ability to plan and develop cultural tourism programs using content resources.

06 Consumer Behavior Theory

Through the study of the market environment, students understand changes in consumers and consumer life, learn the process of consumer behavior, and acquire the ability to utilize customers in the hotel and tourism industries.

07 Convention Industry Theory

This course helps students acquire knowledge of the convention industry system and all matters related to international conferences, exhibitions, and other events, from planning to event operation and follow-up management.

08 Creator Practice

This course helps students acquire the ability to become professional creators who develop and provide tourism content in the future by learning how to use various techniques and devices required to become creators.

09 Service Human Relations Theory

This course approaches human relations between service company employees and customers through scientific methods. At the same time, by using various tools such as transactional analysis, DISC, MBTI, and the Enneagram, students analyze their own personality types and customer types, thereby improving their ability to enhance human relations and realize customer satisfaction.

10 Principles of Tourism

This course helps students learn basic theories and concepts of tourism and examine practical trends in the travel industry, aviation industry, hotel industry, food service industry, conventions, and related areas in order to acquire specialized knowledge of the overall tourism industry.

11 Hotel Room Management Theory

This course helps students acquire theoretical systems and practical knowledge related to the organization of hotel room departments, duties of department members, hotel rooms, reservations, and front desk duties.

12 Travel Agency Management Theory

This course helps students acquire knowledge of travel products, planning, travel cost calculation, travel itinerary preparation, and package tours.

13 Hotel and Tourism Marketing

This course aims to help students develop the ability to respond to the basic understanding of marketing in the hotel and tourism fields, situation analysis, positioning, service marketing mix, and strategic issues in marketing.

14 Hotel Food and Beverage Management

This course aims to help students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the organization of hotel food and beverage departments, types and contents of hotel restaurants, basic attitudes of hotel food and beverage employees, food and beverage management, table setting, menu management, and banquet management.

15 Hotel and Tourism Laws and Regulations

This course aims to help students acquire knowledge of laws related to the hotel and tourism industry, such as the Framework Act on Tourism, Tourism Promotion Act, Tourism Promotion and Development Fund Act, and Act on the Promotion of the International Conference Industry.

16 Hotel and Tourism English

This course helps students learn basic English vocabulary and expressions commonly used in the hotel and tourism fields and develop the ability to express themselves in English.

17 Hotel and Tourism Communication

This course presents basic concepts such as the nature and characteristics of communication required in the hotel and tourism fields, and examines effective communication methods in detail so that students can acquire the communication abilities required of workers in the hotel and tourism fields.

18 Hotel and Tourism Planning

This course aims to cultivate students’ abilities to plan hotel and tourism products, develop new hotel and tourism products and strategies, and plan and develop package tours.

19 Hotel and Tourism Research Methodology

This course helps students learn the procedures and methods for collecting and analyzing data related to the hotel and tourism industries.

20 Hotel and Tourism Chinese

This course helps students learn basic Chinese vocabulary and expressions commonly used in the hotel and tourism fields and develop the ability to express themselves in Chinese.

21 Short-Term Field Practice 1, Hotel

This course helps students develop practical job performance abilities through job practice in the hotel and tourism industry field.

22 Capstone Design, Hotel and Tourism

As professionals in the hotel and tourism industry, students cultivate creative problem-solving abilities and crisis response abilities by deeply learning the process of predicting and solving problems that they may encounter in industrial fields in advance, in order to develop job competencies.

This course examines successful models in the hotel and tourism fields and helps students learn knowledge for future marketing success.

This course helps students understand wine and barista practice, which are part of hotel food and beverage services, and learn practical skills.

26 The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Hotel and Tourism Startup

This course examines startups in the hotel and tourism fields in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and aims to predict future changes.

27 Hotel and Tourism Seminar

This course selects and studies specific topics related to the hotel and tourism fields, and helps students acquire practical application abilities through discussion and debate.

28 MICE Practice Theory

This course helps students understand MICE work, which is closely related to the hotel and tourism fields, and improve practical abilities.
