2002

  • Signed a sisterhood and linked education agreement with Yeongsanpo Girls’ Commercial High School.

  • At the 83rd National Sports Festival, the Archery Team placed second overall in the women’s university division team event and won two silver medals and one bronze medal.

  • The Graduate School of Education was approved with new majors in Counseling Psychology and Industrial Design Education, and the Graduate School of Business Administration and Public Administration was approved for establishment with an admission quota of 30 students.

  • Established a sisterhood relationship with the 31st Infantry Division.

  • Established a sisterhood relationship with Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do.

  • Held the spring 2001 commencement ceremony of Kwangju Women’s University, with 88 graduates.

  • At the 5th National Men’s and Women’s University Archery Tournament, the Archery Team finished as runner-up in the team event and placed third overall in the individual event.

  • Ko Jae-yu was inaugurated as the 3rd President of Kwangju Women’s University.

  • Signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the National Assembly Library.

  • Held the 2002 Freshman Entrance Ceremony, with 678 incoming students.

  • Held the 2001 Commencement Ceremony, with 254 graduates, including 16 early graduates.

  • Selected as an excellent university in the 2001 Liberal Arts Education Field Evaluation conducted by the Korean Council for University Education, in the area of instruction and evaluation.

  • Selected as an excellent university in the 2001 Comprehensive Evaluation of Newly Established Universities conducted by the Korean Council for University Education, in the areas of education, social service, and academic administration services.
