Professor Oh Seung-jin of the Department of Counseling Psychology at Gwangju Women's University ( President Lee Seon-jae ) attended the joint academic conference and policy discussion on the ' Therapeutic Role of K-Culture Art ' held at the Grand Conference Room of the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the 2nd, in his capacity as the President of the Korean Association of Art Psychotherapy .

This event was organized by the Council of Psychological Counseling and Arts Organizations and co-hosted by National Assembly members Cho Kyung -tae , Kim Jong-min , Park Ju-min , Eo Gi-gu , Park Jeong - ha, Im Oh-kyung , Lee Hae-sik , and Kim Tae-seon . It was prepared as a venue for officials from the National Assembly , the government , academia , and the medical community to discuss the social value and policy direction of art therapy .

At the event, key figures including council officials emphasized the social importance of art therapy through congratulatory remarks, and the event was made even more meaningful by the fact that organizations from various fields such as fine arts , music , and expressive arts gathered in one place for the first time under the common goal of " national health . "

In particular , intensive discussions were held regarding the role and potential of art therapy as a solution to psychological problems facing modern society, such as emotional issues among children and adolescents , isolation among young adults , and the sense of loss among the elderly . In addition, various opinions were presented on how to link field experience and expertise in the field of art therapy to policy .

This forum is considered a starting point for discussions on the publicization and institutionalization of art-based healing , and it is expected that related policy discussions will continue more actively in the future .
