Professor Son Myeong-dong of the Department of Social Welfare at Gwangju Women's University ( President Lee Seon-jae ) announced that he was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Gwangsan-gu Welfare Center for the Disabled .

This appointment was made in accordance with Article 36, Paragraph 2 of the Social Welfare Services Act , and the Steering Committee plays a role in improving the quality of community welfare services and ensuring the public nature of operations through deliberation and consultation on the overall operation of the welfare center .

Professor Son Myeong-dong is expected to contribute to the promotion of welfare for the disabled in the region and the strengthening of the welfare service system by setting the direction of the welfare center's operations and deliberating and advising on major projects as the Chairman of the Steering Committee .

Professor Son Myeong-dong stated , “ I will carry out my role with greater responsibility to improve the welfare of people with disabilities in the local community, ” adding, “ I will strive to provide welfare services that offer practical help by reflecting diverse voices from the field . ”

Meanwhile , Professor Son Myeong-dong, as an expert in the field of social welfare, participates in various community welfare activities and conducts field-oriented practice and research simultaneously .
