Gwangju Women's University (President Lee Seon-jae) announced on the 16th that its Student Counseling Center conducted training to enhance student psychological counseling capabilities for faculty members (mandatory participation for Academic Advisors) on the 14th.
This training was organized to support faculty members responsible for student counseling by improving their counseling competence and self-efficacy, enabling them to provide more professional and systematic counseling and guidance to students. The training shared practical counseling techniques necessary for student counseling, as well as various case studies and methods applicable to actual counseling settings, based on an understanding of mental health.
Faculty members who participated in the training shared their thoughts, stating, "It was a meaningful time to understand students and colleagues from a more positive perspective," and "It served as an opportunity to approach student counseling with greater depth based on an understanding of mental health."
Seo Hye-sim, Director of the Student Counseling Center, stated, “I hope this training served as an opportunity for faculty members to strengthen the practical skills necessary for student counseling and enhance the expertise they can utilize in actual counseling settings.” She added, “Moving forward, the Student Counseling Center will continue to operate various educational programs to enhance faculty counseling capabilities and actively support students’ healthy growth and adaptation to university life.”
